StudyBattle — Privacy Policy

StudyBattle ("we," "us," or "the app") is an educational game that helps students learn through quizzes, XP, and friendly competition. We care deeply about the privacy of our users, especially children. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

To create an account and save progress, the app stores:

• Username — a display name you choose (it does not need to be your real name).
• PIN — a short code used to sign in to your account.
• Game progress — your XP, level, coins, tier, achievements, streak, and quiz history.
• Email address — only if you choose to sign in with Google. If you sign in with a username and PIN, no email is collected.

A profile photo, if you add one, is stored only on your own device and is not uploaded to our servers.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your real name, home address, phone number, or precise location.
• We do not use advertising identifiers or show third-party ads.
• We do not use third-party analytics or tracking tools to profile users.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone.

3. How Information Is Used

The limited information above is used only to:

• Let you sign in and keep your account.
• Save and sync your game progress across devices.
• Show leaderboards, friend lists, battles, and in-game chat between users who have added each other.

4. Where Data Is Stored

Account and progress data is stored securely using Google Firebase, a cloud database service provided by Google. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms.

5. Chat and Social Features

StudyBattle includes friend lists and a chat feature. Messages are visible only between users who have added each other as friends. Please do not share personal information (real name, address, school, phone number) in chat. Users can be reported from their profile, and the app administrator can review reports and remove accounts that break the rules.

6. Children's Privacy

StudyBattle is designed for students, including children. We follow a data-minimization approach: we collect only what is needed to run the game, never require a child's real identity, and do not use the app to advertise to children or track them across other services.

We encourage parents and guardians to be involved in their child's use of the app. If you are a parent or guardian and would like to review or delete your child's information, please contact us using the details below, and we will assist you.

7. Your Choices and Control

• Reset progress — you can erase your XP, level, sessions, and streak at any time from the Profile screen.
• Delete account — you can schedule permanent deletion of your account from the Profile screen. There is a short grace period during which you can cancel; after that, your account and associated data are removed.
• Remove your photo — since photos are stored only on your device, removing the app or clearing it removes the photo.

8. Data Retention

We keep account and progress data for as long as the account exists. When an account is deleted, its data is removed from our active database.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
